England’s ODI struggles continue: just 8 wins in 25 games since 2023 World Cup

The loss extended England’s dismal run in the 50-over format. Since the 2023 World Cup, the Three Lions have played 25 ODIs, managing just 8 wins and 17 defeats, with a win-loss ratio of 0.47 — the 10th worst among the 12 full-member nations in this period.
The numbers also reveal deeper structural issues. England has used 28 players across these 25 matches, but only 10 of them have featured in 15 or more games — a sign of constant chopping and changing that has prevented any continuity or cohesion from taking hold.
In the same timeframe, England has lost six of its seven bilateral series and failed to make the semifinals of the 2025 Champions Trophy after suffering three straight defeats in the group stage.
