DC vs GT IPL 2026: Gujarat Titans holds its nerve to edge out Delhi Capitals in last over thriller
In a match for the ages, Gujarat Titans held its nerve to edge out Delhi Capitals and secure it’s first win of the season at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Wednesday night. The match went till the last ball, with DC needing two runs.
David Miller on strike, could not connect with a slower bouncer from Prasidh Krishna and despite Kuldeep Yadav’s best efforts to make it past the crease, Buttler nailed his throw to perfection to run Kuldeep Yadav out in an all time classic. GT won by one run in the end, after all that high action drama which witnessed the match swing both ways.
Earlier in the day, GT batted first and posted a total of 210, thanks to fifties from Shubman Gill, Jos Buttler and Washington Sundar.
Chasing 210, DC started well with Pathum Nissanka and KL Rahul, keeping up with the asking rate. But GT’s bowling, led by Rashid Khan three fer, did well to pull things back by taking regular wickets.
In the end, Rahul’s 92 and Miller’s heroics after returning to bat after walking of the field retired hurt helped DC get as close as it could to the finishing line, but ultimately failed to cross as GT walked away with the two points.
