Bollipalli/Barrientos ousted by 6th seeds in Wimbledon Round 2
India’s Rithvik Bollipalli and Colombia’s Nicolas Barrientos bowed out of Wimbledon in the second round of the Gentlemen’s Doubles, falling to the 6th-seeded British pair in straight sets.
Playing his first-ever Wimbledon, 24-year-old Bollipalli impressed alongside the experienced Barrientos. The duo came close to forcing a deciding set, holding three set points in the second set tiebreak at 6–4 and 7–6. However, the home team held firm to close out the match in two sets. The final score read 4-6 6-7(7).
Despite the defeat, it was a memorable campaign for Bollipalli, who earned his first Grand Slam match win in the opening round — a significant milestone in his budding career.
