Ayushi Soni becomes first player to get ‘retired out’ in WPL history
Delhi all-rounder Ayushi Soni of Gujarat Giants became the first player in the history of the Women’s Premier League to get ‘retired out’.
The decision was taken during Tuesday’s WPL 2026 match between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Giants at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
Ayushi, who was brought in place of an injured Anushka Sharma for her debut, was retired out for Bharti Fulmali during GG’s batting.
