Arthur’s Ride to be Sold at Keeneland November Sale
Grade 1 winner Arthur’s Ride has been retired from racing and will be offered as a stallion prospect at the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale, held Nov. 4-11. He will be consigned by Lane’s End.
Arthur’s Ride impressed on the track for owners Glassman Racing—Karl and Cathi Glassman—earning three triple-digit Beyer Speed Figures. His success reached its pinnacle in 2024, beginning with an allowance win by 7 1/2 lengths at Gulfstream Park. That performance earned him a 101 Beyer and a 107 Equibase Speed Figure. Moving to Saratoga, he dazzled with a 12 3/4-length allowance optional claiming win, earning a 111 Beyer and a 116 ESF. His signature performance came in the historic Whitney Stakes (G1), where he defeated eventual Eclipse champion older dirt male National Treasure and seven other graded stakes winners, earning a 110 Beyer and 112 ESF.
“It is a very important race. It is a grade 1 and probably one of the top two or three races that they run in Saratoga,” trainer Bill Mott said following the Whitney.
Bred by Helen Barbazon, Joseph Barbazon, and Tapit Syndicate, Arthur’s Ride is by leading sire of grade 1 winners Tapit , out of the Point Given mare and 2009 Canadian champion grass mare Points of Grace. The 5-year-old is a half sister to grade 1 winner and 2016 Canadian champion 2-year-old filly Victory to Victory and from the immediate family of group 1 winner Favourable Terms.
“Arthur’s Ride gave us a tremendous thrill and it was an honor to win a race like the Whitney. We are looking forward to him getting a great opportunity to begin his new career as a stallion,” said Karl Glassman.
