Angkrish Raghuvanshi stretchered off with inury during Vijay Hazare Trophy match
Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Mumbai’s young wicketkeeper-batter, was rushed to a local hospital on Friday after sustaining an injury just below his neck while attempting a difficult catch at mid-wicket off a Tanush Kotian delivery.
The incident unfolded in the 30th over, when Saurabh Rawat’s slog-sweep took a top edge. Positioned near the deep mid-wicket boundary, Raghuvanshi charged in and dived in an effort to complete the catch. In the process, he struck his head on the turf and was left in visible discomfort.
Mumbai players and the medical staff immediately attended to him before Raghuvanshi was stretchered off the field and taken to a nearby hospital for scans and further medical assessment.
There was a delay in arranging the stretcher and ambulance, during which he appeared to struggle to move his neck.
