Adkar, Desai, Bhatia, Patil: India Dominates ITF W15 Nagpur Quarter-Finals

Sonal Patil and Kashish Bhatia both reach their maiden ITF Singles Quarter-finals, joining top seed Vaishnavi Adkar and third seed Zeel Desai in the quarter-final lineup at ITF W15 Nagpur.
Singles:
Top seed Vaishnavi Adkar (WTA 397) produced a determined display to navigate a tricky three-setter against Ksenia Laskutova (WTA 1095), eventually prevailing 6-4, 1-6, 6-3. Adkar was in control in the opening set before Laskutova hit back to level, but the top seed held her nerve in the decider to advance.
Third seed Zeel Desai was equally impressive, dispatching qualifier Ekaterina Khodzhaeva 7-5, 6-3. Desai survived an edgy first set before stepping up her level to take the second comfortably, confirming her place in the last eight.
Kashish Bhatia’s run through qualifying has been the story of the tournament so far. The WTA-unranked Indian, continued her remarkable form by defeating compatriot Madhurima Sawant (WTA 1432) 6-4, 6-2 — booking the first ITF quarter-final appearance of her career.
Sonal Patil also makes her maiden ITF quarter-final, receiving a walkover in her round of 16 clash against Ankita Raina. In a poignant draw quirk, Patil and Bhatia — both experiencing the ITF last eight for the first time — will now face each other for a semi-final berth, ensuring one of them goes one step further to notch a new first.
Home favourites Adkar and Desai will be in action against Elina Nepliy and Anastasiya Kuparev respectively, in a bid to secure their berths in the semi-finals.
Doubles:
In the Doubles draw, the fourth-seeded Indian pair of Madhurima Sawant and Soha Sadiq are the lone remaining Indian combination, advancing to the semi-finals with a 7-5, 6-3 victory over compatriots Diva Bhatia and Jennifer Luikham.
Sawant and Sadiq will now face a stiff test in the last four, going up against top seeds Zhibek Kulambayeva and Ekaterina Yashina.
