Adhiraj Thakur Completes Double; 13-Year-Old Jensi Kanabar Wins Maiden Singles Crown at J30 Ahmedabad

The curtains came down on the ITF J30 Tennis Tournament at ACTF, Ahmedabad, with history being scripted on the final day. In a rarest of rare instance, 13-year-old debutant and main draw wild card entry, Jensi Kanabar from Junagadh, captured her first ever Junior ITF singles title in her maiden outing.

In a pulsating girls’ singles final, Jensi stunned top seed Alina Fareed 6-7(6), 7-5, 6-4 in a marathon battle that lasted nearly four hours. After losing a tight first set in the tiebreak, Jensi raised the intensity of her groundstrokes, pushing Alina from side to side and even converting lobs into crisp drive volleys, leaving her opponent without answers. With grit and composure well beyond her years, Jensi sealed a historic victory.

In the boys’ singles final, top seed Dev Vipul Patel of Gujarat went down fighting against the power-packed, aggressive play of Adhiraj Thakur. Despite creating opportunities in the second set, Dev could not convert, as Adhiraj clinched the title 6-2, 6-4.

The doubles finals also produced high-quality tennis:
