ENG vs NZ, 2nd Test: Ollie Robinson sustains injury, Henry Crocombe called up as cover

Sussex pacer Henry Crocombe has been called up to the England Test squad ahead of the second match against New Zealand, the country’s cricket board announced on Saturday.

Crocombe comes in as a cover for Ollie Robinson, who “experienced soreness after a training session on Friday”, as per England Cricket.

Robinson is expected to undergo a precautionary knee scan.

England won the first Test against New Zealand by 115 runs at Lord’s, and Robinson was adjudged the Player of the Match for his seven-wicket match haul.

Crocombe, 24, has represented the England Lions in the past, and is a regular First-Class cricketer in England. The bowler has taken 104 wickets in 47 matches.

Earlier this year, in Sussex’s season opener against Leicestershire, Crocombe notched up his maiden First-Class five-wicket haul and ended the match with a career-best figures of nine for 69.
