IPL 2026 Final: Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s road to the final


Defending champion Royal Challengers Bengaluru is just one win away from emulating its feat from last year and become just the fourth team in IPL history to win successive IPL trophies.

Its been a near perfect season for Rajat Patidar and co, picking up from right where it left off last season, when the team ended its 18-year-long wait for the elusive maiden IPL trophy.

RCB were the first team to qualify this year for the Playoffs after defeating Punjab Kings by 23 runs in Dharamsala on May 17. Out of the 14 matches, the team won nine matches and lost five, starting with a six-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad in its first game.

After fininishing top of the table, RCB progressed to the final without breaking a sweat, after defeating Gujarat Titans by 92 runs in Qualifier 1 on May 26.
