MI vs RR Live Weather Updates, IPL 2026: Will rain affect Mumbai Indians vs Rajasthan Royals match today at Wankhede?
Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals will lock horns at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday in the penultimate league match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season.
The outcome of the match will have a bearing on the three teams still in contention for the final playoff spot. The Royals will book their berth in the last-four stage if they beat MI. However, in case they lose, Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders, which faces Delhi Capitals later on Sunday, will have a shot at the playoffs.
The weather is likely to remain clear for the afternoon game between MI and the Royals, with the temperature hovering around 36 degrees Celsius during the match, according to AccuWeather. There is just a four per cent chance of rain in the afternoon, with the weather conditions being partly sunny and warm and a 22 per cent cloud cover.
However, in case of adverse weather conditions resulting in the match being abandoned, the Royals will be eliminated from the playoffs race as they will end with 15 points, the same as Punjab Kings, which has a superior Net Run Rate.
Interestingly, the previous encounter between the Royals and MI earlier this season in Guwahati was affected by rain, resulting in an 11-over contest, which the host won by 27 runs.
The Royals are currently fifth in the standings, with 14 points in 13 matches. Mumbai, meanwhile, is languishing in the ninth position, with just four wins in 13 games, and will want to end its season on a high at home.
