KKR vs MI, IPL 2026: Is Kolkata Knight Riders eliminated if today’s match is washed out?
Kolkata Knight Riders’ all-important clash against Mumbai Indians at Eden Gardens in Kolkata looks set to be disrupted by rain.
A washout on Wednesday night significantly reduces KKR’s chances of completing its improbable turnaround to qualify for the final four of the tournament.
If today’s match is washed out, KKR will move up to seventh with 12 points, level with Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings. However, it will still trail CSK on Net Run Rate.
Follow the match here.
It will also mean that the maximum number of points that KKR can reach is 14, level with Rajasthan Royals in fourth. It will not be mathematically eliminated, but will need to win its final match against Delhi Capitals by a big enough margin to change the NRR difference and hope that other results go its way in order for it to finish fourth.
RR remains the most likely team to progress, and will qualify if it wins its final match against Mumbai Indians on Sunday.
