GT vs RCB: Rajat Patidar given caught out in controversial circumstances against Gujarat Titans

Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain Rajat Patidar was given out in controversial circumstances during the team’s IPL 2026 encounter against the Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad on Thursday.

The skipper top-edged a ball to deep fine leg, where Jason Holder held onto a diving catch off the bowling of left-armer Mohammed Arshad Khan.

Holder seemed to have dragged the ball along the turf after completing the catch, but the third umpire deemed that the West Indian had control of the ball and had his fingers underneath the ball.

Patidar and Virat Kohli were seen arguing with the fourth umpire standing on the sidelines, but the decision made by TV umpire Abhijeet Bhattacharjya stood.

The dismissal pushed RCB to 79 for three in the eight over after Kohli had provided a quick start with his 13-ball 28.
