SRH vs CSK, IPL 2026: Sunrisers beat Chennai Super Kings by 10 runs
Three wickets from Eshan Malinga and another two wicket from Nitish Kumar Reddy at the top of the order allowed Sunrisers Hyderabad to defend 194 runs and beat Chennai Super Kings by 10 runs in Hyderabad on Saturday.
Despite the early wicket of Sanju Samson, CSK was well on course when Ayush Mhatre added 30 runs off just 12 balls. But a hamstring injury forced a mistake from him and Ruturaj Gaikwad fell shortly after as CSK lost control of its chase.
Matthew Short and Shivam Dube kept CSK in the hunt with their 35-run sixth-wicket partnership through the middle. But the duo fell in consecutive overs and could not take their side over the line.
SRH’s star debutants in the last match, Sakib Hussain and Praful Hinge, could not yield four wickets each but put on the squeeze at the death.
In the first innings, after being asked to bat SRH posted 194 courtesy of Heinrich Klaasen’s 39-ball 59, which also got him the Orange Cap for now. Klaasen consolidated on the platform that was laid by Abhishek Sharma’s 15-ball half century.
