RR vs CSK, IPL 2026: When was the last time MS Dhoni missed an IPL match?
Chennai Super Kings is set to be without legendary wicketkeeper-batter MS Dhoni when it takes on Rajasthan Royals at the ACA Stadium in Barsapara, Guwahati on Monday.
Dhoni is set to miss the initial phases of the tournament after suffering a calf strain in the team’s build-up.
When Dhoni misses out on play on Monday, it will mark the first time that CSK has taken to the field without him since the 2019 edition of the IPL. The 45-year-old misses two games in 2019 as CSK went to the final of the tournament, where it lost to Mumbai Indians by one run.
Dhoni first missed a match against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Hyderabad, which it lost by six wickets, due to a back spasm. He also missed another league match against Mumbai Indians with a viral fever, which CSK lost 46 runs.
Suresh Raina captained CSK in both matches in Dhoni’s absence.
