The pacer returned on the eve of the game and a decision to play him will be made according to how he turns up today in the warmups. If he doesn’t play, then New Zealand might turn to Jacob Duffy.

South Africa finished runner-up in the 2024 T20 World Cup, losing to India in the final. So far this edition, South Africa has looked like the team to beat and will start favourite to qualify for its second straight final. But we all know how dangerous New Zealand can be, especially in this stage of the tournament. Neither of the teams have won a T20 title though and this does seem to be a good opportunity for both to clinch the trophy for the first time.
