Romario Shepherd takes first hat-trick of T20 World Cup 2026 during West I
West Indies’ Romario Shepherd picked up a hat-trick during its T20 World Cup 2026 group-stage fixture against Scotland on Saturday at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
This is the 10th hat-trick in the history of the tournament, and Shepherd became the ninth player to take one.

The pacer removed Matthew Cross, Michael Leask, and Oliver Davidson on consecutive delivers in the 17th over. Shepherd then went on to take a fourth wicket in the over by sending back Safyaan Sharif.
Australia legend Brett Lee was the first player to take a hat-trick at the T20 showpiece. The pacer etched his name in the history books after he removed Bangaldesh’s Shakib Al Hasan, Mashrafe Mortaza, and Alok Kapali during the inaugural edition in 2007.
