IND vs PAK: How can India and Pakistan qualify for the semifinals of the U-19 World Cup 2026?
India has posted a competitive total of 252 against Pakistan in their ICC Under-19 World Cup Super Six clash at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo on Sunday, February 1.
Vedant Trivedi top-scored with 68, while Kanishk Chouhan and RS Ambrish both played useful cameos as well.
Both India and Pakistan come into the match knowing that their place in the semifinal is not assured. England has booked already booked its spot in the semifinals with a perfect record, leaving only one spot remaining for the two neighbours.
For India, the equation is a simple one. Victory would seal it top spot in the group, and a semifinal against Afghanistan on Wednesday, February 4.
However, defeat for the Men in Blue would make things more complicated. India’s Net Run Rate (+3.337) is strong, meaning that even if Pakistan was to win, it would need to do so by a sufficiently large margin so as to overhaul India’s NRR.
In order to do so, Pakistan will need to complete its chase of 253 inside 202 balls, or 33.4 overs. If were to finish with a six to reach 258, it can take up to 34.3 overs.
