The 19-year-old walked in at the fall of the third wicket in the eleventh over with the score at 101 for three. He immediately stitched together a brisk partnership of 113 with fellow southpaw Abhigyan Kundu, before adding another 52 with R.S. Ambrish.

He reached his half-century from 57 balls, and finally reached three figures with an inside edge against Panashe Mazai in 49th over.

Malhotra is one of two players in this India U-19 side, along with Kanishk Chouhan, to have been picked up for the IPL 2026 season. Both players will represent Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
