SL vs ENG: Sri Lanka announces squad for ODI series; England names playing XI for first match


Sri Lanka named a 17-member squad led by Charith Asalanka on Wednesday for a three-match ODI tournament against England, the first home series in just over seven years.

All three games, played from January 22-27, will take place at the Premadasa International Stadium in Colombo.

England’s last ODI tour of Sri Lanka was in 2018 when it won the series 3-1.

The visiting side, led by Harry Brook, will play the Lankans in an ODI and T20I series before the T20 World Cup 2026, which will take place in the island nation and India.

England revealed its playing XI for the opener on Wednesday, with six of the 11 players having recently featured in the 4-1 Ashes loss Down Under.
