Vijay Hazare Trophy: Shubman Gill fails to fire on comeback from injury
Shubman Gill was dismissed for 11 runs off 12 balls during Punjab’s Vijay Hazare Trophy contest against Goa in Jaipur on Tuesday, his first outing since a toe injury ruled him out of India’s fifth T20I against South Africa last month.
He was dismissed by right-arm seamer V. Koushik, who had sent Gill’s opening partner, Prabhsimran Singh, back to the hut in the third over of Punjab’s 212-run chase.
Though Gill was slated to play against Sikkim on Saturday, the India Test and ODI skipper’s return to domestic cricket was delayed as he was ruled out of the match due to illness.
