South Africa squad for T20 World Cup 2026; Full list of players
CHENNAI
The South African Men’s selection panel has officially pulled back the curtain on the 15-player squad tasked with bringing home the nation’s first short-format world title. The Proteas will head to India and Sri Lanka for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, scheduled to run from 07 February to 08 March.
Markram at the HelmAiden Markram continues his tenure as T20 International (T20I) captain, leading a squad that strikes a deliberate balance between veteran stability and explosive young talent. Markram’s leadership will be pivotal as South Africa looks to navigate the subcontinent’s demanding conditions.
In a massive boost for the Proteas’ bowling attack, spearhead Kagiso Rabada has been cleared for a return to action. Rabada missed the recent white-ball tour against India due to a rib injury, but his presence in the squad provides the necessary firepower and experience to lead the pace battery.
South Africa has been drawn in Group D, a pool that requires clinical consistency. They will face off against Afghanistan, Canada, New Zealand, and the United Arab Emirates.
The Proteas will kick off their campaign on 09 February against Canada in Ahmedabad.
Full squad
Aiden Markram (Captain), Corbin Bosch, Dewald Brevis, Tony de Zorzi, Donovan Ferreira, George Linde, Kwena Maphaka, Jason Smith, Kagiso Rabada, Quinton de Kock, David Miller, Keshav Maharaj, and Anrich Nortje.
