BBL: Shaheen Afridi removed from bowling mid-over during Heat vs Renegades match

Pakistan pacer Shaheen Afridi’s Big Bash League (BBL) debut for the Brisbane Heat did not go as expected, as he was removed from attack mid-over in Melbourne on Monday.

In the game against Menbourne Renegades, Afridi bowled two waist-high no balls in his third over, which resulted in the subsequent suspension from bowling further in the match. The Heat skipper Nathan McSweeny completed Afridi’s over.

In his 2.4-over spell, the 25-year-old conceded 43 runs without picking up a wicket.

Afridi was the Heat’s number one pick at the BBL draft ahead of the 15th season. Overall in T20Is, Afridi has taken 126 wickets and gone for less than eight runs an over in 96 matches.
