IND vs SA, 1st T20I: Jasprit Bumrah becomes second Indian to take 100 T20I wickets


Jasprit Bumrah became the second Indian to take 100 T20I wickets during the first T20I between India and South Africa at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on Tuesday. 

Bumrah reached his century of wickets with the dismissal of Dewald Brevis. 

He is only the second Indian to reach the landmark after Arshdeep Singh, who crossed 100 wickets during India’s Asia Cup 2025 clash against Oman.  

Coming into Tuesday’s match, Bumrah’s remarkable record in the shortest format read 99 wickets from 80 games at an average of 18.11 and economy rate of 6.36. His best bowling figures at 3/7 against Afghanistan, taken at Bridgetown during the 2024 T20 World Cup. 

He is also India’s second-highest wicket-taker in T20Is, behind only Arshdeep.
