Wild card Arjun Rathi caused an upset, reaching the pre-quarterfinals at M15 Gwalior


On the second day of the $15,000 International Men’s Tournament, sponsored by Round Glass and under the auspices of the Gwalior Chambal Tennis Association and the Sports and Youth Welfare Department, the remaining singles and doubles matches of the first round were played.

On the second day of the competition, wild card entry Arjun Rathi caused the biggest upset of the tournament by defeating second seed Siddharth Rawat 7-6(2), 5-7, 6-3 to advance to the next round.

Providing further details, Tournament Director Vikas Pandey said that in another closely contested match, Adrian Arcon defeated Aashravya Mehra 7-6(6), 7-5.

Nitin Kumar Sinha defeated Shankar Haisnam 6-3, 6-3. Aryan Shah defeated Jim Hendricks 6-2, 6-3. Digvijay Pratap Singh defeated Madhvin Kamath 6-4, 6-2.

In doubles, Aditya/Mann defeated Aditya/Tarun 6-1, 7-6(4). Makar/Raghav defeated Kahir/Shankar 6-3, 6-3. Udit/Parth defeated Anup/Dharmil 6-2, 6-2. Ajay Madhwin defeated Jim Hendricks/Freck 6-2, 6-1. In another singles match, Rohan Mehra defeated Preston Brown 6-4, 6-2.

The pre-quarterfinals will be played tomorrow. The matches will begin at 9:00 AM.
