SMAT 2025-26: Vaibhav Suryavanshi scores half-century in Bihar vs Maharashtra game
Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored a composed half-century for Bihar against Maharashtra during a group stage game in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) in Kolkata on Tuesday.
The left-handed batter, quite unlike his usual style, took 34 deliveries to bring up his fifty, smashing four fours and three sixes.
The 14-year-old broke free from a string of low scores — 14, 13 and 5 — and notched his first 50-plus score since the whirlwind 42-ball 144 against UAE in the Rising Stars Asia Cup in Doha.
This is only his second fifty in the T20 format, having scored a half-century and a hundred in his maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) season in 2025, playing for Rajasthan Royals.
