Cooch Behar Trophy: Bengal captain Chandrahas scores triple hundred against Punjab

Captain Chandrahas Dash scored a rapid-fire triple hundred 332 (319b, 53×4, 10×6) to put Bengal in a commanding position against Chandigarh on the second day of the Under-19 Cooch Behar Trophy match at the Bengal Cricket Academy ground in Kalyani on Monday.

Dash’s magnificent knock and Sayan Paul’s brilliant hundred helped the host amass 628 for seven declared. In reply, Chandigarh was all out for 122 in its first innings before following on to be at 17 for no loss at the stumps.

Bengal 628/7 dec. in 129 overs (Chandrahas Dash 332, Sayan Paul 113, Ashutosh Kumar 53 n.o., Aditya Roy 40, Ishaan 3/158) vs Chandigarh 122 in 32.5 overs (Abhimanyu 70, Rohit 5/18) and 17 for no loss in 4 overs.

Steyn, Dhawan, among headline names in Legends Pro T20 League

Former India cricketers Shikhar Dhawan and Harbhajan Singh, South African pace great Dale Steyn and Australian all-rounder Shane Watson will headline the inaugural Legends Pro T20 League in Goa from January 26 to February 4.

Former Australian captain Michael Clarke has been appointed League Commissioner, the organisers said in a media release.

SD Prajwal Dev secures clean sweep at ITF M15 Bhubaneswar

India’s SD Prajwal Dev hailing from Mysuru clinched both the singles and doubles titles at the ITF World Tennis Tour M15 in Bhubaneswar that was held from November 16 to November 23. 

In the singles final, second seed Prajwal Dev defeated seventh seed Digvijay Pratap Singh 7-6(4), 7-6(1) in a tight encounter with both sets decided through competitive tiebreaks.

In the doubles, top seeded pair of Prajwal Dev and Siddhant Banthia secured the championship. The duo defeated Madhwin Kamath and Rohan Mehra 7-6(5), 6-2 in the final completing a straight-sets victory that adding a second title to Prajwal Dev’s successful campaign.
