U19 tri-series squads and schedule: Mhatre, Suryavanshi not considered; Rahul Dravid’s son gets call up — Full list of players selected
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday announced the India ‘A’ and India ‘B’ squads for the upcoming Under-19 triangular series in Bengaluru that will also feature Afghanistan.
The most prominent names from the U19 setup, Ayush Mhatre and Vaibhav Suryavanshi, however, were not picked in either team. Mhatre will continue to play for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy while Suryavanshi has been picked in the squad for the Rising Stars Asia Cup, the BCCI said.
Notably, Rahul Dravid’s son Anvay, a wicketkeeper-batter, was named in the India ‘B’ squad.
India ‘A’ will be led by Punjab’s Vihaan Malhotra, who had scored 277 runs against England U19 in two Youth Tests earlier this year. Aaron George of Hyderabad has been given the charge of India ‘B’.
The series will be played from November 17 to 30 at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence.
