Afghanistan will look to wrap up the three-match series when it takes on Zimbabwe in the second match at the Harare Sports Club on Friday.
The Afghans blew the host away by 53 runs in the series opener, with spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman picking four wickets for 20 runs in three overs to dismantle the Zimbabwean batting line-up. Seam-bowling all-rounder Azmatullah Omarzai also chipped in with three scalps to help Afghanistan bundle Zimbabwe out for 127 in 16.1 overs.
With the bat, openers Rahmanullah Gurbaz (39) and Ibrahim Zadran (52) set the tone with a 72-run partnership as Afghanistan posted a competitive 180 for six in 20 overs after electing to bat.
