India’s records in Women’s ODIs against Australia: Top performers, record holders
India and Australia reignite their knockout rivalry when they meet in the second semifinal of the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 on Thursday at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
Ahead of the match, here’s a look at India’s records against Australia in women’s ODIs and the top performers who have done well against the Aussies:
- Smriti Mandhana has the joint-most centuries by a player against Australia (4), sharing the record with England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt.
- Harmanpreet Kaur’s 171* (2017) is the highest individual score by an Indian against the Aussies.
- Mithali Raj has scored the most runs by an Indian against Australia (1123).
- Jhulan Goswami’s 30 wickets is the most by an Indian against Australia in the format. She’s followed by Neetu David’s 21 and Deepti Sharma’s 20.
- Against Australia, Smriti smashed the fastest century in ODIs by an Indian, man or woman, and also recorded the second-fastest ton in women’s ODIs when she notched it in 50 balls.
- India is the only side in the history of the format to cross the 300-run mark against Australia.
- Australia has suffered its heaviest defeat in the format in terms of runs (102) against India.
- Earlier this year (September 17), India ended Australia’s 13-match winning streak in ODIs which dated back to February 2024 when it had lost to South Africa.
