Ranji Trophy 2025-26: Former Delhi all-rounder Lalit Yadav smashes double hundred in first appearance for Goa
Former Delhi all-rounder Lalit Yadav scored a double-century in his maiden First-Class appearance for Goa, against Chandigarh, during the opening round of the Ranji Trophy 2025-26 season on Thursday.
The 28-year-old reached his double ton off 373 balls, with the help of 20 fours and four sixes, after coming in to bat at No. 5. Lalit’s knock was part of a strong batting performance from Goa, with debutant Abhinav Tejrana also smashing a double hundred earlier on the second day’s play.
Lalit and Tejrana put on a mammoth 309-run partnership off 510 deliveries for the fourth wicket, before the latter was dismissed for 205 runs off 320 balls.
This is Lalit’s first First-Class game since January, 2023, when his former team Delhi faced off against Hyderabad. The all-rounder endured a tough 2022-23 season, averaging 15.71 in four matches and picking only three wickets as Delhi finished a disappointing sixth in the Elite Group B standings.
