Women’s ODI World Cup 2025: Why was the IND vs PAK match delayed?
India and Pakistan’s league stage clash in the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 on Sunday was delayed due to a proliferation of insects in the field of play.
Both sets of players were seen struggling due to the effect of insects throughout India’s innings, and the players were called off the field before the start of the 35th over to allow for a round of fumigation.
The players went off with India on 154/4 from 34 overs. Jemimah Rodrigues and Deepti Sharma were the batters at the crease at the time.
The match restarted after a 10-minute break, with Nashra Sandhu delivering the first over after the resumption.
