Abhishek Sharma surpasses Dawid Malan to set highest-ever T20I batting rating
Abhishek Sharma has retained his position at the top of the ICC Men’s T20I batting rankings, setting a new all-time record with 931 rating points after his Asia Cup 2025 exploits.
The 25-year-old left-hander surpassed the previous best of 919 points, achieved by England’s Dawid Malan in 2020. Abhishek reached the milestone following his 61-run knock against Sri Lanka and ended the tournament on 926 points, a commanding 82 ahead of England’s Phil Salt, who sits second. He also made a match-winning 75 against Bangladesh earlier in the week, underlining his dominance.
Tilak Varma, meanwhile, gained 28 points after unbeaten knocks of 49 against Sri Lanka and 69 against Pakistan but remains third in the rankings.
Among bowlers, India’s Kuldeep Yadav climbed nine places to 12th after his four-wicket haul in the final, while India’s Jasprit Bumrah is up 12 places to be 29th.
