Indian opener KL Rahul struck a fine century for India A in its 412-run chase against Australia A in the second unofficial Test in Lucknow on Friday.

Rahul reached his hundred off 136 balls, driving Corey Rocchiccioli for his 12th boundary to bring up the milestone. The 33-year-old had earlier retired hurt on 74 on Thursday but returned at the start of the final day to continue his innings.

This was Rahul’s 22nd First-Class hundred, adding to a prolific run that included 532 runs at an average of 53.20 with two centuries in the recent five-Test series in England.

In the first innings, however, Rahul managed only 11 off 24 balls before falling caught behind to Will Sutherland.
