Mayank Agarwal scores 175 for Yorkshire in final round of County Championship 2025
Mayank Agarwal scored a 122-ball century for Yorkshire in the second innings of the final-round fixture against Durham at Headingley, Leeds on Thursday.
The 34-year-old Indian batter, who departed on 175, reached the three-figure mark with a six off Afghan leg-spinner Shafiqullah Ghafari. He had completed his fifty in the same fashion against the same bowler on the 81st ball of his innings.
For Agarwal, the ton, his 19th in first-class cricket, comes after scoring 26 runs, including two ducks, in three innings since joining Yorkshire for the last three fixtures of the season.
In response to Durham’s 346, Yorkshire had lost opener Finlay Bean in the seventh over with just nine runs on the board when Agarwal came in to bat.
Agarwal hit 20 fours and five sixes in his 195-ball stay before being dismissed by Ghafari with the team’s score at 281.
Agarwal has played 21 Tests and five ODIs for India. His last international appearance came in a Test against Sri Lanka in Bengaluru in March 2022.
