Smriti Mandhana smashes second-fastest century in women’s ODIs


India vice-captain Smriti Mandhana blitzed to the second-fastest century in women’s ODIs on Saturday during the third match between India and Australia at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.

The left-hander notched the ton in just 50 balls, six balls shy of breaking Meg Lanning’s 45-ball record. Smriti also scored the fastest ton in the format by an Indian, bettering her previous record of 70 balls.

Moreover, she also smacked the fastest century by an Indian, man or woman, in ODIs, breaking Virat Kohli’s record of 52 balls which he registered in 2013 against Australia.
