Netherlands bowler Kingma banned for anti-doping code breach
Netherlands international fast bowler Vivian Kingma has been banned for three months following a breach of the ICC Anti-Doping Code.
The 30-year-old tested positive for Benzoylecgonine, a cocaine metabolite classified as a Substance of Abuse under the ICC Anti-Doping Code. The positive sample came following the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 ODI against the UAE in May.
Kingma admitted the offence and demonstrated that the substance had been used out-of-competition.
The pacer’s period of ineligibility begins from August 15, 2025. But the ban can be reduced to a month if Kingma completes the approved treatment programme.
In line with the ICC Anti-Doping Code, Kingma’s records from the ODI against the UAE on 12 May and in subsequent matches have been disqualified.
