Nishesh Basavareddy Secures Spot in Wimbledon Main Draw
LONDON, England – American rising star Nishesh Basavareddy is set to make his main draw debut at The Championships, Wimbledon, after gaining direct entry into the tournament.
Basavareddy, ranked World No. 100, secured his position in the 128-player field following the withdrawal of China’s Shang Juncheng.
This direct entry marks another significant milestone in a breakout season for the 20-year-old former Stanford University standout. Basavareddy made his Grand Slam debut at the 2025 Australian Open, where he impressed the tennis world by taking a set from world No. 1 Novak Djokovic in their first-round encounter.
