Endlessly Returns From Layoff in American Stakes

Having last been seen in the starting gate nine months ago, Amerman Racing’s Endlessly  finally returns to racing April 20 in the $100,000 American Stakes (G3T) at Santa Anita Park.

Trainer Michael McCarthy has held the son of Oscar Performance   in high regard since early in his 2-year-old season. The bay colt began his career 5-for-6 with a pair of grade 3 victories on the turf at 2 and a pair of stakes wins on synthetic to kick off his 3-year-old campaign.

The last of those synthetic wins, a four-length triumph in the 2024 Jeff Ruby Steaks (G3), qualified him for the Kentucky Derby (G1), where he ran a respectable ninth after trailing the field early in his dirt debut. Exiting the Derby and returning to his preferred turf, the campaign seemed to have taken its toll on him as he ran last of five in the Belmont Derby Invitational Stakes (G1T) at Aqueduct Racetrack. Now Endlessly is rested, older, and ready to make true on his early promise as a leading turf horse in America.

He faces no easy task in his one-mile return as he is met by tough local challengers like King of Gosford , who returns from his own freshening since a front-running score in the Dec. 26 Mathis Mile Stakes (G2T), and multiple graded stakes winner Cabo Spirit . Also in the field of seven is Zio Jo , who was defeated just a half-length in the March 1 Frank E. Kilroe Mile Stakes (G1T).
